Frequently Asked Questions

Tester Community FAQ's

Who can join the uTest Tester Community?

Everyone! We welcome testers from all countries, industries, and diverse technical expertise.

Can testers choose testing assignments?

Yes. A tester can accept or reject any testing assignment.

Do I need special software for uTest projects?

No. The uTest Testing Platform is the only "software" needed to join the testing community. It runs on almost any platform via the internet.

Is the tester graded?

Yes. The company Testing Manager is requested to grade each tester during/after a test release. The test grade is available for "general view" and is a component of calculating a tester's pay rate per bug.

How much money can I earn with uTest?

A lot! uTest offers its testers the opportunity to generate a consistent (and potentially) significant revenue stream while working from home. As a result of our on-demand model, testers have the flexibility to choose their own hours, assume projects at their choosing, and the ability to work from any computer with access to the internet. How much revenue testers generate can vary greatly depending on experience, how many test project/hours worked, efficiency, etc.

How does uTest pay its testers?

Currently, uTest uses a debit card system from Payoneer. Payoneer is an official provider of Mastercard, and testers who wish to be paid must register for a uTest debit card. Income is then transferred to the card. uTest is also pursuing Paypal.

Can a tester cancel its profile and debit card?

Yes. A tester can remove their profile and cancel their debit card at any time.
